Soccer Season

We signed the boys up for the Lil' Kickers soccer program at the Indoor Sports Park and they love it. It's an 11 week non-competitive program that teaches them the basics of soccer while having a lot of fun. Cole's class is on Tuesday and he loved it! I don't know why the camera took such dark grainy pictures on the field, but here is Cole (on the left) in action:

Carson's class is on Friday morning and it is the cutest thing ever! It's fun watching all those little one year olds running around kicking soccer balls (the parents do have to be out on the field participating too). Here's little Carson in action:

And a few more random shots of Carson at class.

After class the little guy was wiped out and ready for a nap (so was I, lol).

Hawaii Party

When Alan and I were in San Diego the boys stayed with my parents. Their ward had a Hawaiian luau or a "Hawaii party" as Cole called it and they were brave enough to take my two silly guys. I just got copies of the picture they took at the party. I think it's such cute picture of my Dad and 4 of his 9 1/2 grand kids.

Something Fishy Is Going On

While Carson napped today, I surprised Cole with a fun project. I gave him clues such as it's something you have never made before, it's your favorite color, it's yummy, etc... Then I pulled lollipop sticks out of the drawer and asked him if he knew what they were for and he did. Then a smile spread across his face as he figured out the plan and asked if we were making suckers. Yep, blue fishbowl suckers! I saw this idea awhile ago and with blue being his favorite color and Swedish fish being his favorite candy I knew we had to make these. The first few we made were a little wonky shaped and looked more like a splash, but I got the hang of it and they started to look a little more round.

Of course the most fun was getting to eat them. YUM! Cole decided he wanted to share these with others so we packaged a few up for some of his buddies and cousins to enjoy also.

Girly Getaway

Bright and early last Friday morning Leslie and I boarded a plane bound for Phoenix, AZ and the Creating Keepsakes Convention. We had registered for classes months ago and were really looking forward to our little getaway.
Notice anything especially funny about the photo below? The guy behind us got in on our photo taking action. When we saw him mugging it up on the camera we laughed until our sides hurt.
When we landed in AZ, Leslie's friend Nicole picked us up and whisked us downtown to check into our hotel and then we headed out to the convention center.
We made a few cute make and takes and shopped a little before going to our first class. I took 4 mini album classes which are all in various stages of finish. They are so cute! I need to get them finished so I can show them off too.
We had dinner at a Mexican restaurant and then saw the movie "The Women". It was a cute chick flick, one I definitely wouldn't have been able to drag Alan to so I'm glad I got to see it with girlfriends.

Saturday we were up early (some earlier than others, ugh), noshed on some delicious Einstein bagels and then headed back to the convention. Remind me why we signed up for 8:30 am classes again? By the time we were ready to go we felt like this...
We flew back Saturday night to find all well at home. It was a quick 36 hour get away but so fun and so worth it! A HUGE thank you to my sweet hubby Al for taking Friday off to be Mr. Mom so I could getaway (on our anniversary). Love you!

Two Little Muddy Buddies

Boys and Mud: they just go together like peanut butter and jelly. We have been enjoying these gorgeous September afternoons by spending a lot of time out doors. Inevitably, the boys end up stripped down and covered in mud. They have the best time digging holes and filling them with water, or turning my once flower bed into a muddy river. It's really fun to watch them play together and start to interact as buddies. Before they are allowed to come inside they have to take "hose showers". Cole thinks they are great and Carson, well, he screams bloody murder and I get a little worried the neighbors are going to call child services on me, lol.

San Diego

San Diego was a blast! It was really great to have a kids-free weekend to just hangout and relax. We got massages (I had 2), checked out Seaport Village, rode bikes along the beach, went for walks, ate a lot of yummy food and got to sleep in! My only complaint was that it was over way too soon!
Thanks Mom and Dad for looking after our 2 little dudes so we could have a much needed break!
***(Can you believe I took 2 cameras with me and only managed to take about 5 photos, lol).
