Not a Total Waste

So, Ross wasn't a total waste. I did score two pairs of really cute shoes. And the best part is they were smokin' deals. The top pair retails at Zappos.com for $82.95 and the bottom pair is $68.95. Same brands, very different prices, just like the commercial promises. Sweet!

Feeling Blue?

Cole's blue nose and shirt...

Carson being cute...

Cole sure was earlier today.

We started out the day out with some fun kid activities, free movies with some friends, lunch at Wendy's that included drinking straw sword fights, all around good times.

So, after lunch I decided to run into Ross for a quick look around before heading home since it was in the same parking lot as Wendy's. I had both kids in the shopping cart and things were actually not too stressful. When all of a sudden Cole shrieks this horrid shriek, the likes I have never heard before. I look at him and he has blue gushing out of his nose. Seriously, bright blue. I freaked out, I was thinking, "what the heck is wrong with my kid"? That's when he told me he had candy stuck up there. Yes, a blue runt was lodged in his left nostril.

By this time people are staring at us. I'm trying to remain calm but as I try and get this thing out and it's not budging I find myself getting a little hysterical. I call Alan and he says he is rushing over. Phew! I get some tissues and plug the good nostril and make him blow and blow and blow until I can see this thing appear in plain sight. Then I grab the Disneyland Hotel pen from my purse and begin to work this candy outta there. Success! By the time Daddy arrived all was well except for the blue stain around his nose and down the front of his shirt.

I'm hoping that this is the last time he ever thinks about stuffing something up his nose.

Never a dull moment when you have boys.

Meet the Potters

Carson Potter

Cole Potter

Cole was playing with his magic wand Alan made him and pretending to cast spells on me and I just couldn't resist sticking the glasses on Carson. Isn't he the goofiest little thing you have ever seen. I love these boys!

BTW, I finally finished HP7! Excellent! Anyone want to discuss?

Merci

A big thank you to my very talented friend Amy for designing my adorable new blog banner and another big thank you to my smart friend Helena who "installed" it for me.

The directions on how to do this are here:

But I was not able to wrap my brain around it so these girls came to my rescue.

A Few Good Reads

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a serious reader. I devour books at a pretty fast rate of speed, lol. I was probably the only kid who saved their money for trips to the bookstore (what a nerd, lol). I was worried once I had kids that I would never have the chance to read a book for me ever again, but I have found that to not be the case. They are my great escape from the real world, a great way to get lost in another time or place. I mainly read at night when the kids are asleep or at least settling down for the night. Anyways, I thought I'd share with you guys some of my recent favorite books and if you have any suggestions for me, I'm always open to great recommendations.

My book club read this one and we are meeting next week to discuss it. It was really good, a compelling look at life in Afghanistan as a woman.

A fun twist on the fairy tale.

Had to see what the buzz was all about and ended up reading Twilight 3 times, lol. Book 3 (Eclipse) comes out on August 7th.

A fun read. I was a little worried at first that it might tackle deep topics in a not so enjoyable way, but it was ok, not too heavy. The characters were fun.

Of course I'm five chapters away from finishing the final Harry Potter book (so no spoilers please).

And then I need to tackle the stack on my nightstand. If any of them are worth reading, I'll let ya know.

Wet n' Wild

This past Friday we celebrated my younger sister's 30th birthday with a splash (pun intended, lol). She decided she wanted to rent a huge water slide for her party. It was a blast! I took a ton of photos; here are a few for you to enjoy. If I ever get around to resizing the rest of them I'll post them.

Happy Birthday Michelle!

Carson

I have been the biggest slacker when it comes to taking Carson's photos. With Cole I had the camera out and snapping every single day. People warned me that would happen with baby number 2 and I didn't believe it could, but sadly it's true. Anyways, I decided I'd better start now before it's too late and he is grown. I set up a make shift studio on the balcony with a giant black blanket and went for it. None of the shots are award winning but they work for me. Carson is now 5.5 months and just a total sweet boy. He smiles, giggles and coos all day long, rolls over, pushes up and tries really hard to sit but topples over after a couple of seconds. He loves the antics of his big brother and watches everything he does.

Silly Boy

He gives new meaning to the term "underwear model". What a silly kid, he always has some "good idea".

YUM!

You know a baby this cute and chubby would love eating "big boy" food. This is Carson (4 mos old) in June eating rice cereal in his bumbo chair. We dipped him in the pool afterwards to clean him off.

Aaaaarrrr!

Photos from Cole's Pirate Birthday party. He turned 4 on June 11th. Can you even believe how fast he is growing up?!

Welcome

Well, I decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon and create a journal to showcase our recent photos and update family and friends of all our goings on. I'm so bad at sending current photos out and thought this might be a good solution.

Enjoy...
