Destination Disneyland

Guess where we went this weekend?

We went down to Disneyland on Saturday morning and got back close to midnight on Tuesday. It was a quick but fun trip. The first 2 days were cold, wet and rainy but we were prepared with umbrellas, ponchos and a stroller cover. Sunday the storms started to let up late in the day, HOORAY! Monday and Tuesday were gorgeous, sunny and warm. The little guys had so much fun! As per our family tradition we ate at Goofy's Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel. Carson was not amused by the characters at dinner. He would scream/cry everytime one came to our table for a visit. Cole's highlight was meeting the real live Peter Pan!

I didn't take nearly as many photos as I usually do, infact I left the "good" camera home and just took my little one with a halfway full memory card (duh). Anyways, it was fun to get away with our cute little family and play and enjoy each other's company.

Edited to add: Cole just said to me, "Mom, remember how we got stuck on Splash Mountain and we had to walk down the secret passageway to get off"? Well, it was only a couple of days ago and I had already forgotton that, so I thought I'd hurry and record it here for posterity's sake. Anyways, what happened is the ride broke down while Alan and Cole were somewhere near the top and so they had all the people walk off the ride and were issued line passes for some other ride in the park (except Nemo, can you believe they excluded that)?

Now I Know My ABC's

Today Cole earned his alphabet crown at preschool. This is a HUGE milestone in his class. I am so proud of him, and even better is how proud of himself he is. I hope he always has this much self confidence at school and that he continues to enjoy learning.

When he saw this photo of himself he said, "Wow Mom, I look FANTASTIC"! Yep, you do buddy!

We are so proud of you and we love you so much!

Cute Stuff

Cute and contained in his crib long enough to get a picture without crawling away.

Silly Sleeper

Could you sleep like this? It was all I could do not to laugh and wake him up when I saw the way he was sleeping. Seriously, does that look comfy to you?

What's That Noise?

A couple of mornings ago I was laying in bed trying to catch a few extra minutes of sleep before starting another crazy day when I kept hearing the strangest sound. It went on for a few minutes and I kept wondering what on earth that noise was. Finally I dragged my tired body from the comforts of my cozy bed to investigate the source of this strange and random sound. It seemed to be coming from the general direction of the master bathroom. So that is where my investigation started and ended. Standing at the toilet wearing a cheesy, toothy grin is Mr. Carson and in his hands is the toilet plunger and in the toilet is my make-up that he is vigorously plunging. He was having so much fun I hated to ruin it but I was: a) grossed out that he had been playing in the toilet for who knows how long and b) ticked off that he had thrown my make-up into the toilet. Ick! I guess Alan had gotten him up and then got busy doing something and Carson crawled himself up the stairs and into my room where the trouble began. Needless to say Carson went straight into the tub and the make-up went straight into the trash.

Is it just me or is it kind of funny that my 100th blog post has a photo of the inside of my toilet bowl.

Valentine Cookies The Lazy Way

Cole really wanted to make Valentine's Day cookies this year and I just wasn't up for it so we settled on the next best thing. (Thank you Nestle's Tollhouse for making pre-rolled, pre-cut heart cookies for lazy Mom's like me! We love you!) After we were done sepearing the cookies and laying them out on the cookie sheet, Cole took the leftover dough, rolled it into a big ball and announced to me that we were going to be baking that as well. Alrighty then. Nothing says Happy Valentine's Day quite like a giant dough ball cookie.

On a side note: We were driving home from the gym today and I asked Cole if he was hungry for lunch and he said yes and that we would like panda bear (Panda Express). Ick! Not my favorite and so I asked him if we could maybe go there another time and just stop somewhere else on our way home. And he say's to me, "Mom, since it's Valentines's Day and you're loving me, can we please go to panda bear"? Well, how can you say no to that. So he got panda bear for lunch and I had a can of soup at home, lol.

Little Heartbreaker

An Afternoon of Discovery

On Tuesday, a group of Moms (and kiddos) from our ward met at the Lied's Discovery Children's Museum downtown. It was such a fun way to spend an afternoon. There were a ton of new displays since the last time we had visited. Everyone had a great time playing with all of the hands on displays and learning new things. Cole's absolutely most favoritest thing there is the construction area. He loves to dress up and work the pulley's and blast the horn. We usually spend a majority of our time at that exhibit. Carson really enjoyed toddling around and being with all of the kids.

Wow, I'm 29 Again!

Last Saturday was my birthday. It's amazing how every year I keep turning 29, it's like some sort of a cosmic miracle. Anyways, I had been really sick all that week and didn't feel too festive but my sweet hubby picked up some yummy and gorgeous cupcakes from The Cupcakery and invited my family over for a small and informal get together. He also booked me a one hour massage earlier that day. Mmmmm. It was heavenly.

The Birthday Blues

This photo basically sums up Carson's 1st birthday. On Friday, both boys woke up sick with 102 degree fevers and runny noses. Carson's party was scheduled for Saturday and I was ever hopeful he would feel better by then and that the show must go on. Bad judgement call on my part. The poor little guy was absolutely miserable all day long.

I went with a monkey theme for his first birthday since he is such a little monkey boy.

He got two of these cute vacuums, lol!

He really wasn't too happy about eating his cake, he tasted it a little bit and then had total meltdown:

Happy First Birthday Carson!

I can't believe a year has gone by since our sweet chubby little Carson joined our family. What a blessing he has been in our lives. He is always smiling and you can't help but smile yourself when he gives you one of his big goofy grins. We love you little guy!
